Fast Foods

These pictures are pictures of fast food establishments in the urban areas of Trinidad and Tobago, Tunapuna and Curepe, there showing  Burger King, KFC and Subway which have all become a part of the existing culture and new lifestyle. As seen in my first post I talked about sport and physical activities within urban and rural areas and it will be seen along with fast food that it is a significant part of urban lifestyles.

There have been a growing popularity of processed and convenience food or fast food in other words, that are rich in sugar and fat, this has led to an unhealthy lifestyles in the people and most of all, the young people and is becoming a serious problem. The introduction of fast foods into the urban and rural communities have led to an increase in nutrition related health problems such as secondary malnutrition, obesity and diabetes and it has affected the rural and urban communities differently due to there difference in lifestyle. It also affects the different genders differently as most females tend to eat much more frequently during the day, but much healthier, majority of females tend to prefere to eat more vegetable and fruits but even so there are less active and physical activities aren't a part of there daily lifestyles. Males in rural communities are seen to be eating more fast food than those of urban, but they tend to eat fewer times daily and are much more physically active, while the males in the urban communities are eating more fast food and also have a less physical lifestyle. It would seem that in bought rural and urban environment people tend to eat more and more fast foods as they are encroaching on all communities as the large scale chains expand, but the main reason why people consuming more is because they have limited time due to, too much work and more stress.

The less active lifestyle and new way of eating is leading to an unhealthy way of life for the people living in urban areas and should be paid more attention to.
